ACVFFI is recognized by ICAO

The 29th February 2016, ICAO Council approved the inclusion of Air Crash Victims’ Families’ Federation International (ACVFFI), in the list of international organizations which may be invited to attend suitable ICAO meetings as Observer. This way, ACVFFI has become the first international organization of air accident victims which is formally recognized by ICAO.

Our request

The objective is to contribute, together with the international community, to give answers to families, victims, and passengers who may suffer air catastrophes in the world.

In our experience, we had to confront the inefficiency from Authorities, the indolence from Air Carrier, the nonchalance from Industry and also the voracity of Insurance Companies which are solely and exclusively concerned about their outturn account.

Working under message “VICTIMS HELPING VICTIMS”, because whatever happens after air accident is very similar for all affected people, no matter the nationalities or place of occurrence.

ACVFFI bears the responsibility of giving answers to people who suffer air accident. Ensuring that progress of the air transport system has a human approach and aiding in a proactive way to improve safety. Our firm belief is that Assistance on Air Crash Victims and their Families will become more effective and efficient if we may talk through one voice in front of international aviation organizations.

Why ICAO

ICAO_0ICAO, International Civil Aviation Organisation is a United Nations Specialized Agency being established in 1944 by the Convention on International Civil Aviation. ICAO works to address problems of international civil aviation and to formulate policies and regulations on global aviation. The Council manages its operations from their headquarters in Montreal, Canada.

In other words, ICAO is the global forum where the aviation community addresses its problems and the future of air transport.

Don’t forget to read the Speech of Pilar Vera, Provisional Chairwoman of ACVFG, in Side Event of Second High-Level Safety Conference HLSC 2015 in which she announced the creation of ACVFFI and its intention to request the recognition of ICAO.
