Memorial of Flight AH5017

On July 24, 2014, aircraft McDonnell Douglas 83 operated by Swiftair for Air Algérie from Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, to Algiers, Algeria, disappeared from radar about fifty minutes after crashed with 110 passengers and 6 crew members.

The six crew members were from Spain. A Memorial has been established in Barajas Airport on their memories and for 110 deceased passengers. It is a plaque bears next inscription:

In memory of deceased crew and passenger of Flight AH5017 in Mali (Gossi region). [names of the crew] Your love leaves a memory which nobody can remove.

The nephew of Agueda Rueda was a member of this crew. Her words remembered the really bad experience that they lived and explained this memorial is a triumph because having a physical place to remember their loved ones. She thanked Pilar Vera, ACVFFI’s Chairwoman, her support since the beginning and for achieving this Memorial.

Pilar remembered that “The unique lost fight is the abandoned fight, for this, it is important that victims’ families keep working to know the truth and the causes in order to can to prevent it from happening again”.
