ACVFFI Participates in the 4th Safer Skies Forum

Ms. Claudia Carrasco, Secretary General of the Air Crash Victims’ Families’ Federation International (ACVFFI), recently participated virtually in the 4th Safer Skies Forum held in Marrakech on April 8-9.

Founded in Madrid in 2015, ACVFFI represents victims at the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and has been dedicated to establishing international standards to enhance victim assistance and aviation safety. Claudia highlighted that transparency in route information is essential for passenger safety and that pilots require accurate and up-to-date data when navigating near conflict zones.

ACVFFI proudly supports the forum’s final statement and advocates for a binding international agreement to prevent flights over conflict zones. Our organization has actively contributed to various working groups and international events, including the successful proposal for an International Day of Remembrance for Air Crash Victims, adopted in 2022. Claudia’s speech underscored the heartbreaking experiences of victims and their families and the urgent need to act swiftly to prevent future tragedies.

The continued existence of the Safer Skies Forum is vital to ensure that agreements reached are respected and improved. ACVFFI remains committed to supporting all efforts to strengthen victim assistance, improve aviation safety, and promote fairness between insurers and affected families. We extend our deepest gratitude to everyone involved in this forum for their dedication and hard work.
